Curiolea Creative Club
Parent/Guardian Full Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: September 2026 • Version 1.0
Welcome to Curiolea Creative Club. These Terms & Conditions are intended to help create a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable creative experience for every child. By registering a child for Curiolea Creative Club, the parent or legal guardian acknowledges and agrees to the following terms.
1. Program Information
Curiolea Creative Club ("Curiolea") is an independently operated after-school enrichment program for children ages 5–12. Curiolea offers hands-on creative experiences incorporating art, crafts, design, creative exploration and age-appropriate STEAM activities.
Â
Regular program hours are 3:30 PM–5:30 PM, unless otherwise communicated in writing.
Â
Curiolea is operated as a sole proprietorship and is independently operated from the Peel District School Board. Curiolea's use of PDSB property does not mean that the program is operated, sponsored or endorsed by PDSB.
2. Program Location & School Property
Programming may take place on PDSB property under applicable facility-use permissions.
Â
Participants and families are expected to comply with applicable school, facility, safety and community-use requirements while on PDSB property.
Â
If access to the school or facility is cancelled or unavailable due to a school closure, PDSB direction, weather, emergency or other circumstance outside Curiolea's reasonable control, Curiolea will make reasonable efforts to provide a make-up session or alternative program date.
3. Arrival & Transition to Curiolea
Children may transition directly from their regular school dismissal to the designated Curiolea program location or may be dropped off by a parent/guardian or authorized adult by the scheduled program start time.
Â
Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring Curiolea has accurate information regarding their child's expected arrival arrangements.
Â
Curiolea's supervision begins once the child has arrived at and been received into the designated Curiolea program area.
Â
Curiolea is not responsible for a child's whereabouts before the child has been received into the program. Parents/guardians should notify Curiolea of any change to their child's usual arrival arrangements.
4. Pickup & Authorized Adults
Programming ends at 5:30 PM. Every child must be picked up by a parent/guardian or another adult authorized by the parent/guardian.
Â
Children will not be permitted to leave independently.
Â
Parents/guardians must provide accurate authorized-pickup information and promptly notify Curiolea of any changes.
Â
Curiolea may request identification before releasing a child to an authorized adult when staff cannot reasonably verify the individual's identity.
5. Late Pickup & No After-Care
Curiolea does not currently provide after-care. Families are responsible for arranging prompt pickup at 5:30 PM.
Â
A 10-minute grace period is provided for occasional unforeseen delays. For pickups occurring after 5:40 PM, a late fee of $10 for each additional 10-minute period or portion thereof may be charged.
Â
Parents/guardians should contact Curiolea as soon as possible if an unexpected delay occurs.
Repeated or significantly late pickups may result in a meeting with the family and, where the issue continues, Curiolea may discontinue the child's participation after reasonable notice.
Â
The safety and supervision of the child will remain Curiolea's priority until an authorized adult arrives.
6. Registration & Payment
Registration is confirmed once all required registration information, consents and applicable payment have been received.
One-week sessions: Program fees are payable in full at registration.
Ongoing/monthly programming: Fees may be paid monthly according to Curiolea's payment schedule or prepaid in advance where that option is offered.
Families are responsible for ensuring payments are received by applicable due dates.
7. Family Cancellation & Withdrawal
Families wishing to cancel ongoing enrollment must provide Curiolea with at least 30 days' written notice by email at curioleacreativeclub@gmail.com.
Fees applicable to programming occurring during the 30-day notice period remain payable and are generally non-refundable.
Where fees have been prepaid for programming occurring after the applicable 30-day notice period, the unused portion will be refunded.
For short-term or one-week programs beginning within 30 days of registration, registration is considered a commitment to that session unless otherwise stated at the time of registration.
8. Missed Sessions & Participant Absences
Families are encouraged to notify Curiolea as early as possible if their child will be absent.
When reasonable advance notice is provided, Curiolea may offer one alternative or make-up session, subject to program capacity, scheduling and availability.
Make-up sessions are not guaranteed, have no cash value and may not be transferred to another participant.
Refunds are generally not provided for sessions missed because of a participant's illness, vacation, schedule conflict or other personal absence.
9. Program Cancellations
Occasionally, Curiolea may need to cancel or reschedule programming due to instructor illness, school or facility closure, weather, PDSB direction, emergency conditions or other circumstances affecting safe program operation.
Where a session is cancelled, Curiolea will make reasonable efforts to offer a make-up session or alternative date.
If Curiolea is unable to provide a reasonable make-up opportunity, an appropriate program credit or prorated refund may be provided for the cancelled session.
10. Health, Allergies & Accessibility
Parents/guardians are responsible for providing Curiolea with information reasonably necessary to support their child's safe participation, including relevant:
• allergies or dietary restrictions;
• medical or health considerations;
• accessibility or accommodation needs;
• emergency medications; and
• other information that could reasonably affect the child's participation or safety.
Parents/guardians must promptly advise Curiolea if this information changes.
Curiolea is committed to providing an inclusive environment and will make reasonable efforts to support individual needs within the nature, staffing and resources of the program. Families are encouraged to contact Curiolea in advance to discuss accommodations or supports that may be required.
Arrangements regarding emergency medication must be discussed with Curiolea in advance and may be subject to applicable policies, training, insurance requirements and facility requirements.
11. Illness
Children should not attend Curiolea when they are too unwell to comfortably and safely participate or when attendance would be inconsistent with applicable school or public-health requirements.
If a child becomes significantly unwell during programming, Curiolea may contact the parent/guardian or emergency contact and request prompt pickup.
12. Emergency Care
In the event of an accident, illness or emergency, Curiolea will make reasonable efforts to contact the child's parent/guardian or emergency contact.
Where immediate assistance is reasonably believed to be necessary, the parent/guardian authorizes Curiolea staff to contact 911 or other appropriate emergency services.
Parents/guardians understand that emergency medical decisions and treatment are ultimately provided by qualified emergency or healthcare professionals.
13. Snacks & Food
Snacks may occasionally be offered as part of Curiolea programming.
Parents/guardians will receive written advance notice when Curiolea intends to provide food or snacks and should advise Curiolea of relevant allergies, dietary restrictions or concerns.
Parents/guardians may request that their child not consume a provided snack.
Curiolea will take reasonable precautions regarding known allergies; however, an entirely allergen-free environment cannot be guaranteed.
14. Creative Activities & Materials
Curiolea activities may involve age-appropriate art, craft, design and STEAM materials and activities, which may include paint, glue, scissors, markers, sensory materials, building materials and simple experiments.
Activities are selected and supervised with children's ages and safety in mind.
Parents/guardians acknowledge that participation in hands-on activities carries ordinary risks such as minor cuts, spills, stains, allergic or skin reactions, or other minor injuries despite reasonable supervision and precautions.
Families are encouraged to send children in clothing appropriate for creative, hands-on activities.
15. Behaviour, Inclusion & Safety
Curiolea is committed to creating an environment where children feel welcomed, respected and able to explore creatively.
Participants are expected to treat other children, staff, school property, materials and shared spaces respectfully and safely.
When behavioural concerns arise, Curiolea will make reasonable efforts to work collaboratively with the child and family.
If behaviour creates an immediate or ongoing safety concern, substantially disrupts the program, or significantly affects the well-being of other participants, Curiolea may contact the parent/guardian and request early pickup.
Where significant concerns continue despite reasonable efforts to address them, Curiolea may discontinue a child's participation. Whenever reasonably possible, Curiolea will communicate with the family before taking this step.
16. Personal Belongings
Children are encouraged to leave valuable or unnecessary personal belongings at home.
Curiolea will take reasonable care but cannot assume responsibility for personal items that are lost, misplaced, stolen or accidentally damaged during programming.
17. Photography & Media
Â
Curiolea may occasionally photograph or record program activities, children's creative work or program events.
Â
Permission to use identifiable photographs or recordings of a child for Curiolea promotional, website or social-media purposes is optional and is not a condition of participation.
Â
Parents/guardians will be provided with a separate opportunity to provide or decline media consent.
Declining media consent will not affect a child's ability to participate in Curiolea.
Â
18. Program Changes
Â
Curiolea may make reasonable changes to activities, themes, instructors, rooms, schedules or program arrangements where necessary for safety, quality, facility requirements or effective program delivery.
Â
Families will be notified of material changes whenever reasonably possible.
